Heritage Walking Trail

The Heritage Walking Trail is a route between Forge Mill Needle Museum and the Arrow Valley Lake.

The walk is steeped in both history and wildlife with many interesting features along the way. You will see how the landscape reflects the changes from the monastic period through to the Victorian era to modern times.

The walk takes about an hour each way and both the Museum and Arrow Valley Lake serve light refreshments, have toilets and free car parking.

You can download a copy of the Heritage Walking Trail Map for use on your own devices.

Alternatively, you can see an interactive version of the map below. Hover/press over the letters on the map to see key points of interest and do the same with the numbers to see the route steps.

The walk is about 2.9km (1.8 miles) each way. The terrain includes gravel and grassy paths, fields, wooden bridges and urban footpaths.

The Heritage Walking Trail is kindly sponsored by Mettis Group.
