Events
Forge Mill Needle Museum and Bordesley Abbey Visitor Centre holds many different events throughout the year.
These can link in with National Days or initiatives, seasonal themes or exhibitions that are on display at the museum, or just fun-filled events for all the family to enjoy. With such a variety of events there is something for everybody!

OUTDOOR EXPLORERS
Fun outdoor activities exploring the natural world for 3 to 4 year olds. Limited numbers available.
Explore the outdoor world through free play in our Forest School area with your little one. Each session lasts around an hour, and starts and finishes around the fire circle.
We recommend this activity for 3 and 4 year olds, but younger ones are welcome also and there is no charge for younger accompanying siblings.
Please ensure children wear trousers as well as sturdy footwear or wellies and that they dress according to the weather.

SILENT DISCO
It’s Silent Disco time in Redditch, in the unique surroundings of our cloisters area and grounds.
Dance the night away and enjoy making memories with family and friends. It’s an event you won’t forget.
- Family disco from 5.00 to 7.00pm
- Adults only 7.30 to 11.00pm (music starts at 8.00pm)
Freshly cooked pizza from Pizza Heaven will be available from 5.00 to 9.00pm. There will be a bar selling a selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks.

ENCHANTED TRAIL
Follow the enchanted trail around the site to discover a magical word. Reveal the word to our magical character and unlock the treasure chest to reveal your fairy gift.
This trail is around the grounds of Forge Mill and will include a craft activity.
No advance booking is required.

CREATE BUILD LEARN LEGO WORKSHOP: FAIRY TALES
Fun and engaging one-hour themed lego workshops with the ‘Create Build Learn’ team. Come and create magical fairy tale builds.
We ask that any child under 8 is accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop although please only book a place for the participating child.

FELTING WORKSHOP: CREATE A FISHING GNOME
Create your own fishing gnome character using felting techniques in this fun afternoon workshop.
Expert tuition and all materials will be provided by one of the team from The Makerss. Come and learn a new craft!
Workshop price includes hot drink and cake.

OUTDOOR THEATRE: GREAT EXPECTATIONS
From the misty marshes to the dusty, dirty streets of London; Quantum Theatre bring you a brand new adaptation of Dickens’s most enduringly popular and atmospheric novel which delivers high comedy and thrilling drama following Pip’s journey through adversity.
Gates open at 4.00pm. The performance begins at 4.45pm. Please bring your own picnics, blankets and seats to enjoy this performance in the beautiful, natural surroundings of Forge Mill.
