Volunteers
With a limited number of paid staff, Forge Mill Museum relies on volunteers to help provide its range and quality of services.
Particularly on events days, when the site is visited by hundreds of people, the contribution of the Museum’s volunteer workforce is invaluable.
Volunteers can work in our gift shop and gallery areas welcoming customers as well as assisting with Group Visits (providing refreshments and delivering tours) and helping out with children’s activities. We also have a team of dedicated gardening volunteers who meet on Mondays to maintain our grounds.
Volunteers are invited to attend a Coffee Morning on the first Wednesday of every month where they are able to meet with staff and other volunteers in a social setting and find out what is going on at the museum. We also have opportunities to socialise with trips out in the Summer and Christmas gatherings.
So, if you’ve got a little spare time and would like to get more involved with the Museum, why not come along and join our friendly bunch of volunteers? You’ll be most welcome!
