The Worshipful Company of Needlemakers is one of the ancient London Guilds and was given its charter by Oliver Cromwell in 1656.

The Livery Company is still very active today, their charitable work supporting organisations and individuals associated with the use of needles.

2) Mr George Horton signing his name on being made an Honorary Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Needlemakers when the Livery came to Redditch on 23 May 1946.  Mr Horton joined the company in September 1945 and was previously a needle finisher at Woodfield’s needle factory.
