Events and Activities
Forge Mill Needle Museum and Bordesley Abbey Visitor Centre holds many different events, workshops and other activities throughout the year.
These can link in with National Days or initiatives, seasonal themes or exhibitions that are on display at the museum, or just fun-filled events for all the family to enjoy. With such a variety of events there is something for everybody!
Wednesdays and Fridays 3 to 26 June: 10.30 to 11.30am
OUTDOOR EXPLORERS: SUMMER DAYS
Explore the outdoor world through free play in our Forest School area with your little one. Each session lasts around an hour, and starts and finishes around the fire circle.
We recommend this activity for 3 and 4 year olds, but younger ones are welcome also and there is no charge for younger accompanying siblings.
Please ensure clothing is suitable for the weather, and please have legs covered in all weathers. Wear waterproofs if needed, and wellies/sturdy footware.

BLADES, BOWS AND BLACK POWDER: A MEDIEVAL WEEKEND
Experience medieval life and see the Knight’s encampment come alive with archery, armour and battle. Please be aware there will be live firing at 1.00pm.
Overflow parking available at Redditch crematorium.

COUNTRY NIGHT AT THE MILL
Come on down to the mill for our first ever Country Night!
Join Adam Harding as he brings authentic country sounds, supported by The Violettes performing some popular country tracks! You can also take on our rodeo bull and see if you can lasso a cactus. Dust off your boots, grab your friends and family and enjoy an unforgettable evening.
Our coffee bar will be serving up pulled pork baps, hearty chilli with cornbread or nachos, plus a tempting selection of drinks including refreshing iced teas and whiskey cocktails – the perfect pairing for a night of country classics. Our usual offering of snacks and drinks will also be available.

OUTDOOR THEATRE: TREASURE ISLAND
It’s pirate ships, pieces of eight and salty old sea dogs for Summer 2026 in Quantum Theatre’s swashbuckling new adaptation of the classic pirate adventure, Treasure Island.
Bursting with buccaneers, brouhaha and dastardly double dealings this lively new adaptation delivers an action-packed adventure for the whole family.
Gates open at 4.30pm. The performance begins at 5.00pm. Please bring your own picnics, blankets and seats to enjoy this performance in the beautiful, natural surroundings of Forge Mill.
Ice creams and light refreshments will be available from the coffee bar.
