_builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.4&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Princess Margaret visited Redditch and was given a tour of the British Needle Company on 23 October 1962.<\/p>\n<p>The firm\u2019s Sales Director, Mr C Buckle, conducted the tour where the Princess met:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mr Harold Coom who was pointing needles &#8211; he had been with the firm for 43 years<\/li>\n<li>Mr John Clissett who was stamping and eyeing sail needles<\/li>\n<li>Mr Albert Day who was blind due to an accident at work and had also worked for the company for 43 years<\/li>\n<li>Mr Leonard Brooks who worked in the scouring mill and he had worked for British Needle since the age of 14.<\/li>\n<li>Mr Desmond Tyrell, in the polishing shop.<\/li>\n<li>Elsie Sabin in the press shop.<\/li>\n<li>Mrs Jessie Atkins (a needle wrapper), who amazed the Princess which her speed in packing the needles<\/li>\n<li>And finally, Mrs Kathleen Sealey whose job it was to inspect the needles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Mr Keesey then presented the Princess with a blue leather needlecase containing 300 needles.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243;
