4 and 5 June 2011
Hundreds of people stepped back in time to the Middle Ages as they took in the atmosphere at Forge Mill Needle Museum's Medieval Festival at the weekend.
An estimated 800 people visited the Needle Mill Lane museum on Saturday and Sunday (June 4 and 5) to enjoy the sights and sounds of a traditional Medieval camp set-up within the grounds.
Visitors were treated to a series of weapons drills, enjoyed a falconry display and learnt more about what life was like at the time. There was also music from the period and children got the chance to make their own jester sticks.
Debbie Lakeman, the museum's education officer, said: "Lots of people enjoyed the festival and it gave a real flavour of a Medieval knight's encampment."
