7 and 8 June 2008

Crowds turned out to enjoy a medieval festival at Forge Mill Museum last weekend. Visitors to the event, which took place on Saturday and Sunday (June 7-8), were taken back in time and treated to a fascinating experience of the medieval age.
Activities included demonstrations of medieval fighting, drills and dancing, while 'Brother William' helped to bring the medieval history back to life with his tours of the Bordesley Abbey site, which proved to be very popular.
A fire breathing magician and music from Sloe Gin also helped guests enjoy an historic Saturday evening.
Debbie Lakeman, education officer at the museum, said: "We are really pleased so many people turned out to the medieval celebration and enjoyed themselves. Visitors seized the opportunity to engage with the past and spent lots of time talking to the reenactors and asking questions. "
